Objective

Trust App is designed as a centralized network connecting service providers and users, aiming to be the “Amazon of Services.” The platform consolidates over 400 service categories, enabling users to discover, book, and trust services without navigating multiple platforms. By offering a one-stop solution, Trust App simplifies service transactions while fostering a trusted ecosystem for buyers and service sellers.

The Challenge

In today’s fragmented market, users face significant challenges when booking services or interacting with businesses:

  • Platform Fragmentation: Users must juggle multiple mobile apps and websites to find and book services, creating an inefficient and cumbersome experience.

  • Lack of Trust: It’s difficult for users to gauge the reliability of service providers, leading to hesitation and missed opportunities.

  • Inefficient Targeting for Providers: Service providers struggle to broadcast their offerings to a specific, localized audience, limiting their growth and reach.

Trust App sought to overcome these challenges by creating a unified, trusted platform for both service buyers and sellers.

The Solution

Trust App aggregates services across a vast array of categories, offering users a seamless and efficient service-booking experience. Key features include:

  • Comprehensive Service Listings: With over 400 categories, users can find virtually any service, from home repairs to professional consultations.

  • Location-Based Services: The platform dynamically filters services based on users’ specific locations, ensuring relevance and accessibility.

  • On-Demand Service Requests: Users can request custom services, and relevant providers can easily set up shop to meet those needs.

  • Targeted Advertising: Service providers can advertise to a highly localized audience, maximizing their reach while minimizing costs.

By bridging the gap between users and providers, Trust App delivers a seamless, efficient, and trustworthy service marketplace.

Design Process

1. Research & Discovery

Understanding user behaviour and expectations was key to designing an effective marketplace. My research included:

  • User Personas: Identifying target user groups, including busy professionals, small business owners, and service providers.

  • Competitor Analysis: Analyzing existing service platforms to identify gaps and opportunities.

  • User Pain Points: Gathering insights on the challenges users face when switching between platforms to find services.

These findings provided the foundation for designing a user-centric platform.

2. Information Architecture & Wireframing

The goal was to create a streamlined user flow, ensuring that users could easily search, book, and trust services. Wireframes emphasized:

  • Efficient Search Functionality: A robust search bar with location-based filters and service categories.

  • User-Friendly Booking: A simple, step-by-step process for booking services.

  • Service Provider Dashboard: An intuitive interface for providers to manage listings, bookings, and advertisements.

3. Visual Design & Prototyping

I used Adobe XD to create high-fidelity prototypes with a clean, professional aesthetic. Key design choices included:

  • Modern Typography & Icons: Enhancing readability and navigation.

  • Color Palette for Trust: Blues and greens were chosen to evoke trust, reliability, and professionalism.

  • Micro-Interactions: Subtle animations to guide users through the platform intuitively.

4. Testing & Iteration

Prototypes were tested with a diverse group of users, including both service buyers and providers. Feedback highlighted the need for improved navigation and clearer instructions for new users. Iterative design changes ensured a polished final product.

1. Service Discovery:

Users browse or search for services using location-based filters and intuitive category menus.

Reflections

Working on Trust App was an exciting opportunity to design for a diverse user base and solve real-world problems in the service marketplace. This project underscored the importance of user-centric design and the need for simplicity in complex systems. The experience strengthened my skills in UI/UX design, user research, and marketing content creation, which I look forward to applying to future challenges.
